Domaine Cécile Tremblay stands as one of the most remarkable Burgundy Domaine in the Côte de Nuits managed by women. It became the First MICHELIN Grape Selection in Burgundy, securing the coveted 3-Star Grape distinction because of her commitment to site purity and viticultural mastery in 2026.

Established in 2003, the domaine's foundation is tied to Burgundian royalty: Cécile Tremblay is the great-granddaughter of Edouard Jayer (a cooper from Nuits-Saint-Georges) and the great-niece of the legendary Henri Jayer.

For decades, her family's prime vineyards were leased out under long-term métayage (sharecropping) contracts. When key leases expired in 2002–2003, Cécile reclaimed 3 hectares to launch her estate in Morey-Saint-Denis. Over the past two decades—most notably in 2021–2022 as further historic family leases returned—the domaine expanded to its full 7-hectare footprint.

Historically, the Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes offered what I considered the single greatest price-to-quality ratio in the entire portfolio, a benchmark village-level wine punching well above its weight class.

However, the market dynamics have shifted drastically.

Following widespread critical acclaim and coveted Green Michelin recognitions for her sustainable viticulture, the secondary market pricing across the middle of the portfolio has compressed. Today, the price gap between the Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes, and the micro-cuvée Chambolle-Musigny "Les Cabottes" has narrowed significantly.

Because of this pricing convergence, my strategic advice to collectors today is simple: prioritize village expression and personal preference over nominal classification.
